Abstract
Shrinkage and porosity in metal castings are the most common defects in metal casting. There are various ways to predict these defects, one of which is a computer-assisted software simulation. Simulation plays an important role in product development in metal casting by modeling the entire casting process and revealing the dynamic behavior of the casting scheme under working conditions. In this analysis, a comparison will be made between the results of using Altair simulation software and the results of aluminum metal casting, with the product in the form of brackets. The use of this simulation software is also intended to predict the location of defects such as porosity, micro porosity and solidification shrinkage which are generally located in the riser and channel system.
