Analysis of Shaft Support Sand Casting Product Through Comparison of Sand Casting Results with Altair Inspire Cast Simulation Software
Last modified: 2021-11-16
Abstract
Altair Inspire Cast is a software application that is used to project the metal casting process through simulation. In this application, the simulation of casting through the design of the specimen that has been made can be shown as an initial illustration if it will carry out the actual metal casting process. However, the results shown between the simulation in Altair Inspire Cast and the actual casting can be different, either through the time of casting, the conditions of the mold, the temperature of the molten metal when casting, and so on. By comparing the Altair Inspire Cast simulation results with the actual molten metal casting results, we can observe the shape of the specimen results and determine the cause of such things. In addition to the differences in the resulting defects, the comparison of the two methods can provide an overview of the existence of various factors in the actual casting process that were not experienced during the simulation at Altair Inspire Cast.
