Abstract. A brief review of the laser-induced filamentation in transparent materials application demonstrates the advantages of using them in laser processing. A short description of the filamentation mechanism and types is given at the beginning to explain the terms. The critical parameters process is described to give picture of the filamentation mechanism when applied to transparent materials.  Based on the discussion, the manufacturing improvement was addressed. Some potential possibilities of filamentation application provide an overview of opportunities for future laser process development and improvement.
