Product Design Engineering (PDE) is a third-year module for manufacturing focus engineering to further enhance problem-solving skills, teamwork, general engineering knowledge and its application and the knowledge and approach to product design. Project Based Learning (PBL) has been incorporated throughout the timeline of the Engineering course, and PDE module aimed to further elaborate and improve the skills acquired in prior years. This article explores the effectiveness of integrating PBL in realizing the aims and objectives of Product Design Engineering module with a case study external gear pump design and manufacture.
